Dr. Watson's Medical Terminology

Show illustration Dr. Watson's Medical Terminology, Version 4, is a complete, self-paced computer course, equivalent to a 3 semester hour course, for PCs or for the MacIntosh using Windows emulation. The course is divided into 14 chapters, covering General Terms, Body Structure, and the body systems. Each body system chapter includes sections on A & P, Pathology, Pharmacology, Lab, Clinic (X-ray, clinical, and surgical procedures), Records (abbreviations and miscellaneous terms), and Class (chapter objectives and ungraded exercises).

There are 2200 hot words which provide popup definitions or diagrams, and 1800 pronounced terms. Students read medical terms in context and are shown the prefix, word root, and suffix components in the popup windows. Colorful screens and diagrams entice the students to explore each chapter carefully and in detail.
The Medical Terminology Workbook, Version 4, is a separate option and is the perfect companion to the program. The workbook requires students to label diagrams, define terms, and break terms into term component parts. Completion of workbook chapters prepares the students well for the computerized chapter tests or instructor-made tests. Workbook icon
